IN 1912, William Kelly survived 103 days trapped on the Wolf Rock Lighthouse. His remarkable story has now been included in Falmouth's National Maritime Museum's exhibition, Lighthouses: Life on the Rocks.

Denis was even born at a lighthouse - St Catherine's, on the Isle of Wight.

The new display at the museum explores the family's history and what life was like for lighthouse keepers at the turn of the last century.

Kathryn said: "It proves that it pays to be a hoarder.

"It was only when we were assembling pieces for the exhibit that we came to realise what a fine job our grandfather had done.

"It's has really brought the story to the fore for the whole family and it's very moving to see the family story displayed so beautifully."

Davis sidelined with Heart condition

MILWAUKEE | Brewers pitcher Doug Davis has been diagnosed with inflammation of the tissue surrounding his heart, a condition that is treatable but could keep him out about two weeks.

BANGALORE: UK's government departments, struggling to cope with fiscal deficit and seeking to cut costs without having to send jobs overseas, are set to flesh out shared service centers, which will mean new business for top back office and outsourcing firms.

"Typically, it has been more of a traditional variety show ... but this is part of how we want to encourage young and old, and all of the people in between to come out and enjoy the festival."

As the last-minute planning wraps up, Himpe says all signs point to the festival being yet another resounding success -- despite hefty competition throughout the province from events like Minnedosa's Rockin' the Fields and the kickoff to Folklorama in Winnipeg.

"Our camping (more than 300 sites) is nearly sold out and we've heard again and again that there's a lot of people who are making the trip out because it is that milestone anniversary," she said.

"(After the festival) we will take a week to breathe, and then get right back into planning again ... We're going to have to start pre-planning for that big 50th anniversary soon."

To date, an army of 500 volunteers has been assigned duties, and Himpe expects the roster will grow throughout the weekend as more people step up Louis Vuitton Belts Handbags to help out.

"It really is a phenomenal undertaking to arrange all of these volunteers," she said.

"We're so thankful that we have this many people who are willing to come out and pitch in year after year."

THE head of a motivational training company is aiming to win over the infamous business dragons when he appears on the hit TV show Dragons' Den.

Managing director of Tree of Knowledge Gavin Oattes, who lives in Trinity, will be seen making a pitch for financial support to some of the country's highest-profile entrepreneurs when the BBC programme airs on Monday night.

The Tree of Knowledge team asked the millionaire Dragons - Scot Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones and James Caan - to invest GBP100,000 in their Dunfermline-based firm, in return for a 10 per cent stake.

But Mr Oattes, a father-of-one, is keeping tight-lipped about whether or not he clinched a deal.
